April 9, 1985 Game 15: Padres at Giants

We had another pitchers dual today. This one was between Lamarr Hoyt of the Padres and Atlee Hammaker of the Giants. The Giants got on the board first. In the 2nd inning Chris Brown would Triple and Jose Uribe would Single him home. That is where the score would stay as each pitcher would mow through the opponets hitters but it would fall apart for Hammaker in the bottom of the 9th with 2-outs and Terry Kennedy coming up. Kennedy would take a Hammaker curveball and put in the seats at Candlestick Park to tie the game at 1. This game would remain tied at 1 until the 14th when Tony Gywnn would hit a Grand Slam off of Mark Davis to make the score 5-1. The Giants would rally and score 3 runs in the inning. Jose Uribe would Single, Pinch hitter Joel Youngblodd would walk and Dan Gladden would Double scoring Uribe. Youngblood would score when Gary Templeton bobbled a Manny Trillo grounder. Gladden would score on a Chili Davis Single and Jeff Leonard woud pop out to end the game. The Final Score is a 5-4 Padres win
