April 11,1985 Game 24: Pirates at Cubs

Jose DeLeon pitched a gem at Wrigley today the right hander was outstanding despite signs of ineffectiveness.  DeLeon no-bit the Cubs through 5.2 until a Shawon Dunston Single.  DeLeon would only give up 3 hits on theday, however he would walk 6 to go along with his 7 strikeouts. He would be able to finish this and get the complet game shutout.

The Pirates would score in the 5th. Lezcano would get a walk followed by a Khalifa Single. DeLeon would SAC them to 2nd and 3rd.  Wynne would Single scoring Lezcano and the Pirates were up 1-0.  Steve Trout of the Cubs was able to get out of the inning without further incident.

Mike Brown would touch Trout for a solo homer in the 6th to give the Pirates a 2-0 lead.  The would score 1 more in the 7th. Wynne would walk, Ray would Single and Jim Morrison would hit into a 6-4-3 double play that would move Wynne to 3rd.  A jason Thompson walk would put runners on the corners with 2 outs and Mike Brown would Double scoring Wynne and putting the Pirates up 3-0.  Thats were the score would stay and the Pirates are 2-0 season.
