April 13, 1985 Game 44: Expos (1-2) vs (1-2)

Dan Schatzeder would make a rare early season start for the Expos and the crafty lefthander would be sharp. Scott Sanderson would would be solid for the Cubs.

In the 1st Dawson would hit a solo shot to left, his 1st of the season. A Law triple would scores Francona and Brooks and the Expos are up 3-0. In the 5th Dawson would hit a SAC FLY to left and Raines would score and its now 4-0 Expos.

The Cubs would get on the board in the 7th; Dunston would bounce into a 5-4 FC and that would score Durham. An Error by Brooks on a Speier groundball would score Moreland. That would end Schatzeder's day as it appeared he was tiring. With the bases loaded Burke would able to get Sandberg to fly out to Winningham to end the inning. its now 4-2 Expos

In the 8th the Expos would break the game open by scoring 4 runs. A dawson 2-run Homer. A Fitzgerald singleand Law would score and Burke would single scoring Wallach. its now 8-2 Expos.

The Expos would put 2 more on in the 9th for good measure. Law singles scoring Francona and an error by Matthews scores Brooks, Matthews would recover and throw out Law at the plate.

In a post game interview Schatzeder said, "I was just trying to make pitches by throwing as much junk up there as possible."

Dawson and Law lead the offensive attack Dawson went 2-4 with 2 HR's a 4 RBI and LAw went 4-5 with 2 RBI.
