April 13, 1985 Game 53: Brewers (2-1) at Rangers (1-2)

Charlie Hough was looking to get a win after losing 1-0 to the Orioles in his first start. Pete Vuckovich would start for the Brewers and would give the team what they wanted 5 solid innings.

The Brewers would get 2 in the 1st. A Simmons single would score Yount and a Gantner double would score Cooper and the Brewers are up 2-0. They would add to their lead in the 3rd when a Cooper single would score Yount. Gantner would would ground out to Wilkerson and that wouls score Cooper and its now 4-0 Brewers, THey would add another in the 4th on a Cooper single that would score Romero and it is now 5-0 Brewers.

The Brewers would make it 6-0 in the 5th when Gantner would hit a solo HR off of Hough and that would end his day, The Rangers were able to get on the board in the 5th. A Wilkerson triple scores Wright and a Slaught double scores Wilkerson making the score 6-2 Brewers.

The Brewers would get 1 off off Noles in the 6 on a Cooper single that would score Yount. Vuckovich would pitch 5 innings giving up 2 runs on 5 hits walking 1 and striking out 1. Cocanower would pitch 4 scoreless innings to pick up the save.. Noles was able to stop the Brewer offense, but the damage was done.
