April 14, 1985 Game 57: Expos (2-2) at Cubs (1-3)

It was a classic pitchers dual at Wrigley today. Dave Palmer and Rick Sutcliffe would battle all day and between the 2 they would strikeout 14. Neither team could get to the two until the 8th.

The Cubs were finally able to fink a chink in the armor of Palmer in the 8th and they would score 3 off of the Expo starter. Sandberg would homer. With runners on 1st and 3rd Palmer would exit the game and Tim Burke would take over. Speier would single scorind Matthews and a Davis SAC FLY to Webster would score Moreland.

In the 9th Raines would single and steal second and then would score on a Webster single. Sutcliff would be able to shut down the Expos after that and the Cubs get the win.

The Final Score 3-1 Cubs
