In the 2nd the Mariners would open the scoring Rijo would walk Phelps to lead off the inning and advance to 2nd as Griffin commits an error on a Presley groundball. Scott would single and Phelps would come around to score to make it 1-0. In the 8th Own would make it 2-0 with his 2nd Home Run of the season. In the 9th Thomas would make it 3-0 with his 1st Homer of the season.
Pitching was the real story of this game. Moore would toss a 6 hit shutout while walking 1 and striking out 5. Jose Rijo would wow the hometown crowd as his fastball was electric as he was able to rack up the strikeouts. he would strikeout 6 in a row at one point and would finish the game with 13.
