April 17, 1985 Game 93: Angels (4-3) at Twins (5-2)

The Twins are looking for some separation from the AL West and the Angels are looking to close it.  The Angels would send Jim Slaton to the mound and the Twins would send John Butcher.

In the 1st Downing would draw a 2-out walk and DeCinces would triple him home. THe Angels would get another run in the 4th to make 2-0.  Hendrick would leadoff with a double and would come around to score on a Grich double.

In the 7th the Angels would add to their lead. Downing would single with 1-out DeCinces would follow with a double and Downing would hold at 3rd.  Hendrick would single and that would score Downing and DeCinces and that would make it 4-0.

Jim Slaton would scatter 7 hits over 9 innings and would end up with the shutout to earn his 1st win of the season.
