April 17, 1985 Game 97: Rangers (2-4) at Blue Jays (4-3)

Two of the teams unluckiest pitchers would take the mound today at Exhibition Stadium.  Charlie Hough  for the Rangers and Jimmy Key for the Blue Jays. An unlikely hero would emerge in this one. 

In the 3rd the Rangers strike first.  Slaught would leadoff with a double, Harrah would single with 1-out and that would score Slaught. Buechele follows with a 2-run homer to make it 3-0.  The Blue Jays would get 1 back. Mulliniks leads off with a single, Moseby would walk.  Upshaw bounces into a 1-6 FC and Mulliniks advances to 3rd.  Bell would hit a SACFLY to Parrish and Mulliniks scores and makes it 3-1.

In the 4th Barfield hits a Hough knuckleball for a solo homer to make it 3-2. In the 5th Buechele makes it 5-2 with a 2 run homer. In the bottom half in the inning Moseby would draw a 1-out walk, he steals 2nd and would score on a 2-out single by Bell and now its 5-3 In the 8th George Wright hits a sinking fastball into the seats to make it 6-3. 

 In the bottom of the 9th the Blue Jays mount a comeback against the closer Greg Harris.  Moseby would leadoff with a solo home run.  1-out later Bell would make it 6-5 with a 1-out homer.
