April 18, 1985 Game 103: Expos (2-5) at Cardinals (5-2)

The first place Cardinals take on the struggling Expos today at Busch Stadium. Kurt Kepshire gets the nod for the Cardinals and Bill Laskey gets the go for the Expos.

The Cardinals get on the board first as they put a 3 spot in the 2nd. McGee leads of with a single and steals 2nd. Van Slyke single and McGee scores, Nieto singles and Smith follows with a single of his own and the speedy Van Slyke scores. Coleman singles and that would score Smith. Buck Rodgers will have to come up with something to stop all the Cardinal speed.

The Expos counter in the 4th. Kepshire starts off by hitting Brooks, Wallach singles and Law walks to load the bases. Fitzgerald bounces into a 6-4 FC and Brooks scores. Laskey singles to help his own cause and Wallach scores to make it 3-2 Cardinals. They tie it up in the 5th when Dawson hits a Kepshire heater into the seats.

The pitchers take over until the 11 when the Expos get to Forsch. He hits Law, Raines singles and Winningham doubles and that scores Law, Francona singles and Raines scores to make it 5-3. Jeff Reardon closes out the game for his second save.
