April 19, 1985 Game 114: Indians (3-5) at Yankees (4-3)

Another pitchers dual today this time in the Bronx.  Neal Heaton and Ron Guidry would lock horns for a great game. Heaton is the big surprise among pitchers this season and Louisana Lightning is always among the leagues best.

The Yankees would get 2 in the 3rd off of Heaton and that would be the extent of the damge that they could inflict on the left hander. Meachem singles with 1-out, Robertson singles and Mattingly walks to load the bases. Winfield hits a long flyball to center that will score Meachem, Baylor follows with a single and robertson scores on a close play at the plate and the Yankees lead 2-0. Heaton as good as he has been lacks the run support to make a serious impact this season. The indians just do not have the offense.

Guidry would dominate this game as the Indians could only scratch out 3 hits. Guidry would strikeout 7 and improve to 2-0.

The Final Score 2-0 Yankees
