April 21, 1985 Game 139: Mets (5-5) at Phillies (5-5)

The Mets and the fighting Phillies are at again at the Vet.  The Mets have taken the first two games of this series and have outscored the Phillies 13-2.  The Mets are send Ron Darling to toe the rubber and the Phillies are sending Jerry Koosman who has struggled so far. In other words its looks like this will be a Mets sweep.

In the 2nd Corcoran doubles, Wilson bloops a 2-out single and Corcoran score and its 1-0 Phillies.  They would add to their lead on the 3rd.  Samuel doubles and Stone singles to score him and now its 2-0.  

The Phillies would make it 3-0.  Stone doubles and Corcoran hits a 2-out double and Stone scores.  In the 9th the Mets try and mount a comeback and Carter hits a 2 run homer and its 3-2 Phillies.  Koosman gets the final outs for the win.
