April 22, 1985 Game 149: Tigers (6-4) at Indians (3-8)

The Tigers have had some trouble against the Indians in their first series and Jack Morris seems to be taking the brunt of the Indians offense. Today would be no different. Morris would face off against Don Schulze.

In the 1st the Indians would hit just about everything that Morris threw at them. Nixon leads off with a single, Butler doubles Franco hits a SACFLY to left and Nixon scores. Hall singles scoring Butler. Tabler gets on due to a Whitaker error, Vukovich walks to load the bases. Morris walks Williard forcing home Hall. Bernazrd singles scoring Tabler. Nixon then crushes a hanging forkball over the right field wall for a grandslam and that makes it 8-0 Indians.

The Tigers try and mount a comeback in the 3rd. Lemon is hit by a pitch, Trammell singles, Gibson singles and Lemon scores. Parrish walks to load the bases, Evans the launches a Schulze fastball in the center field bleachers for a grand slam to make it 8-5.

The Tigers get another run in the 5th. Gibson singles and steals 2nd, Parrish singles scoring Gibson to make it 8-6. Tom Waddell pitches the final four innings for the Indians and shutdown the Tiger offense to pick up his 2nd save.
