April 22, 1985 Game 151: Mariners (5-7) at Twins (6-6)

Game 1 of a three game set in the Metrodome today the Twins are hoping to play better on the home-stand.  They send Ken Schrom to the hill and the Mariners send Matt Young who has struggled in his starts.

The Twins score first in the 2nd to take the early lead.  Gaetti doubles, Gagne follows with a triple scoring Gaetti.  Laudner then singles with 1 out to score Gagne and the Twins are up 2-0.

The Mariners take the lead for a brief moment in the 4th on a Henderson 3 run homer to make it 3-2 Mariners.  THe Twins fight back and regain the lead in the bottom half of the inning.  Gagne singles Teufel singles, Launder singles and Gagne scores.  Puckett singles and Teufel scores.  Hatcher singles to load the bases and Brunansky hits a 1-1 slider off of Young into the left-field seats for a Grand Slam and the Twins are up 8-3.  THe MAriners would only be able to get 1 more as Thomas hits a home run in the 6th off of Schrom to make it 8-4

Schrom would finish the game and get the  complete game win.
