April 22, 1985 Game 152: Braves (3-8) at Padres (7-4)

Beautiful day a Jack Murphy today as the Padres take on the struggling Braves.  Andy Hawkins would toe the rubber for the Padres and Steve Bedrosian for the Braves.

The bats were alive early and the Braves would take the early lead. Washington singles, Ramirez doubles, Perry singles and both Washington and Ramirez score. Murphy walks, Cerone singles and that will score Perry and it is 3-0 Braves.  The Padres answer back in the bottom half of the inning when Gwynn launches a 2-run homer to make it 3-2 Braves.

The Padres tie it up in the 3rd. Flannery singles, Gwynn Doubles, Garvey singles and Flannery will score.  The Braves regain the lead in the 4th as Zuvella doubles and Washington would single him home to make it 4-3.

In the 5th Horner singles and Cerone get hit by Hawkins, Harper singles to load the bases.  Zuvella then laces a single to left that scores both Horner and Cerone to make it 6-3 Braves.  Both teams offense slows down and neither will score again and Bruce Sutter works the 9th for the Braves to earn his 1st save of the season.

The Final Score 6-3 Braves
