April 24, 1985 Game 179: Dodgers (7-8) at Giants (7-6)

The Giants and Dodgers have split the first two games of this series and the Dodgers want to get back to .500. They would send Jerry Reuss out to face Mike Krukow. Both pitchers have lacked run support so far this season.

The Giants get an early 1-0 lead in the 2nd. Leonard reaches due to an error on Duncan, Brenly bounces into a 6-4 FC, Trevino singles and Uribe hits a 2-out double to score Brenly. The dodgers take the lead in the 4th. Guerrero homers, Marshall doubles and Sciscia hits a 1-out single scoring Marshall to give the Dodgers a 2-1 lead.

The Dodgers get 4 in the 7th to break the game open. Landreaux singles, Sax singles and Landreaux moves to 3rd. Sax is gunned down at 2nd trying to steal. Guerrero walks and marshall reaches due to an error by Leanard that allows Landreaux to score. Brock walks and that will load the bases. Scioscia singles scoring Guerrero and Marshall, Russell bounces into a 4-3 FC and Brock scores making it 6-1 Dodgers. The Giants try and mount a comeback and get within 2 after a Driessen 3 run homer. But the Dodgers are able to stop any more from scoring and they take this and take 2 of of 3 from the Giants.
