April 25, 1985 Game 185: Tigers (7-6) at Brewers (7-6)

The Tigers and Brewers square off at County Stadium today and the Tigers are hoping Frank Tanana can equal his last start where he struck out 10 and led his team to victory.  The Brewers send Moose Haas to the mound who has been consistently good.

In the 1st the Tigers get an unearned run off of Haas.  Gibson smacks a 2-out single, Parrish singles putting runners on the corners.  Molitor is charged an error on an Evans smash that allows Gibson to score and give the Tigers a 1-0 lead.

The Brewers tie it up in the 3rd when Molitor hits a hanging curveball for a solo homer off of Tanana.  The Brewers add to their lead in the 4th.  Simmons hits a 1-out double, Schroeder follows with a run scoring single and gives the Brewers a 2-1 lead.

The Tigers tie it up in the 5th when Whitaker hits a Haas fastball for a solo homer (his 2nd).  The Brewers take back the lead in the 6th.  Simmons is walked with 1-out, Schroeder singles, Romero singles with 2-outs and Simmons scores.  Manning follows with a double and Schroeder scores to make it 4-2 Brewers.

The Brewers make it 6-2 in the 7th and send Tanana to the showers.  Brouhard hits a 1-out double, Oglivie doubles scoring Brouhard.  Simmons draws a walk, Schroeder singles to load the bases.  Gantner hits a deep flyball to center Oglivie tags up and scores easily.

The Tigers try to comeback in the 9th.  Evans gets on due to an error on Haas, Herndon singles, Lemon walks to load the bases.  Grubb comes in to pinch hit for Flynn and draws a walk scoring Garbey who came in to pinch run for Evans.  The score is 6-3 Brewers.
