The Twins and A's are battling out at the Metrodome today. The Twins are scuffling as of late and the A's are playing well. The Twins send John Butcher to the mound and the A's send Bill Krueger to toe the rubber.
In the 4th the A's get a run on a Davis 2-out home run and the score is 1-0. The Twins take the lead in the bottom half of the inning. Hrbek doubles with 1-out, Brunansky singles and Smalley draws a walk to load the bases. Gagne rips a 2-out single scoring Hrbek and Brunansky and the Twins have a 2-1 lead.
The A's tie it up in the 6th when Kingman and Murphy single and there are now runners on the corners. Heath bounces into a 6-4 FC and Kingman scores and the game is tied at 2. In the 9th the A's take the lead; DAvis singles and steals 2nd. Hill puts one in in the right field corner and makes it to 3rd for a triple and Davis scores and the A's take a 3-2 lead.
Howell makes it interesting in the 9th, but gets out of it to pick up his 3rd save.
