April 25, 1985 Game 191: Angels (10-5) at Mariners (6-9)

The Angels are trying to increase their lead in the West and the Mariners are just trying to hold on to some respect.  The Angels send their Ace Mike Witt to the hill and the Mariners look to Mark Langston to correct his horrendous start.

THe Angels get on the board quickly.  Carew leads off with a single and steals 2nd, DeCinces walks, Grich doubles and Carew comes around to score.  Downing then crushes a 3 run homer and the Angels have a 4-0 lead.

The Mariners cut the lead in half in the 2nd.  Cowens hits a 1-out double, Presley follows with a double and Cowens scores, Ramos walks, Perconte singles and Presley scores to make the score 4-2 Angels.  The Mariners tie it up in the 5th.  Perconte walks, Bradley doubles, an error on Jackson scores both runners and it is 4-4.

The Angels take the lead in the 6th when Langston walks Boone, Schofield, and Pettis and that ends Langston is done for the day.  Carew hits a SACFLY to right and Boone scores and it is 5-4 Angels.

Donnie Moore comes in and tries to save the game but the Mariners have other plans.  Bradley is on when Schofield can't handle the sharp grounder, Davis walks and Thomas walks to load the bases.  Cowens hits a 2-out single to score Bradley and Davis and the Mariners get the win.
