April 26, 1985 Game 200: Atheltics (7-9) at Twins (8-8)

The surging A's and the struggling Twins are play at the Metrodome today.  Rookie Jose Rijo is getting the start for the A's and Ken Schrom is handed the ball for the Twins.

The A's get a run in the 1st when Bochte singles and Kingman is safe on first due to an error by Schrom,  Murphy rips a double and Bochte scores and the A's have a 1-0 lead. 

The A's add to their lead in the 6th.  Bochte hits a solo homer,  Kingman and Murphy single, with runers on the corners Heath grounds out to Teufel and Kingman scores and Murphy is at 2nd.  Davis then singles and Murphy scores.  Hill doubles and Davis holds at 3rd.  Collins singles scoring Davis,  Hill tries to score from 2nd buyt Puckett throws a frozen rope from center and nails him at the plate. The Twins get on the board in the bottom half of the inning on a Tom Brunansky 2-out 2 run homer and the score at the end of 6 is 5-2 A's.

In the 8th Steve Ontiveros cannot hold onto the lead as Gaetti hits a 2-out 3 run homer to Tie the game at 5.  The A's Break through in the 10th as Bochte hits his 2nd homer of the game and give the A's a 6-5 lead.  Jay Howell secures the win with a flawless inning and picks up his 4th save.
