April 26, 1985 Game 203: Reds (10-6) at Giants (7-8)

The 1st place Reds are taking on the Giants at Candlestick Park today.  We would see a classic pitchers dual between Jay Tibbs and Atlee Hammaker.  Both pitchers have been the victim of low run support.  Today would be no different.

The Giants would take the early lead in the 1st Davis paints one down the rightfield line and it bounces around in the corner and Davis is on 3rd with a triple.  Leonard then singles to score Davis to make it 1-0 Giants.  The Reds tie it up in the 6th with a Davis lead off homer and at the end of 6 its a 1-1 game.

In the 7th the Reds take the lead.  Esasky lead off the inning with a single, Concepcion walks, Oester bounces into a 6-4 FC to put runners on the corners.  Van Gorder singles and Esasky scores to give the Reds a 2-1 lead. Franco closes out the 9th for his league leading 6th save.

The Final Score 2-1 Reds
