April 26, 1985 Game 204: Blue Jays (10-5) vs Rangers (6-8)

The Blue Jays are trying to keep pace with the Yankees and today they6 would destroy Ranger pitching.  Jimmy Key has struggled so for this and Dickie Noles wouldn't make it out of the 1st for the Rangers.

In the 1st The Blue Jays would bust this one open.  Mulliniks hits a routine grounder to Wilkerson and he throws it into the dirt and O'Brien can't handle it and is Charged with an error.  Moseby doubles and then Upshaw hits a 3 run homer off of Noles.  Bell then singles, Matuszek singles, Whitt Singles and Bell scores. Barfield is walked and that will load the bases.  Garcia is then hit by pitch and Matuszek scores, Mulliniks singles scoring Whitt.  Moseby then singles and Barfield and Garcia score and at the end of 1 it is 8-0 Blue Jays.

In the 7th the Blue Jays add to their lead. Whitt doubles,  Fernandez triples and Whitt scores.  Garcia hits a SACFLY to left and Fernandez scores and its now 10-0 Blue Jays.  In the bottom of the inning the Rangers get their lone run.  Harrah singles with 2-outs, Ward singles, Tolleson singles and Harrah scores to make it 10-1.

The Blue Jays aren't done yet as Bell and Matuzsek hit back to back homers with 2-outs to make it 12-1.   In the 9th the Jays add 2 more on a 2-out 2 run homer by Mulliniks.  Key pitches the 9th for and earns his 1st win of the year.
