April 30, 1985 Game 239: Braves (7-11) at Reds (12-7)

The Reds and Braves are fighting it out at Three Rivers today.  Jays Tibbs will go for the Reds and Steve Bedrosian.  Parker would be the star of this game and Tibbs would go the distance.

The Reds draw first blood in the 1st.  Milner leads off the game with a single and steals 2nd, Rose doubles and Milner scores.  Esasky launches a 2 run homer his 4th of the season and that gives the Reds a 3-0 lead.  In the 3rd the Reds add to their lead when Parker hits his 4th homer of the game and the Reds lead it 4-0.

In the 4th Tibbs hits a deep fly to center and it hits off of Murphy's glove and then he throws it away and he is charge with a 3BE, Tibbs is on 3rd. Milner is walked, Rose is hit by a pitch and forced to leave the game and Redus will pinch run for him. Parker then singles scoring Tibbs and Milner and the Reds now lead it 6-0.

The Braves finally get one off of Tibbs in the 6th.  Horner walks with 1-out and Chambliss singles, Oberkfell doubles scoring Horner to make it 6-1.
