April 30, 1985 Game 240: Twins (9-10) at Tigers (9-8)

The Tigers take on the Twins at the corner of Michigan and Trumbull.  Walt Terrell gets the start for the Tigers and John Butcher for the Twins.

The Tigers get on the board quickly in the 1st.  Whitaker triples, Flynn singles scoring Whitaker.  Gibson singles Parrish bounces into a 6-4 FC and Flynn advances to 3rd.  Evans singles scoring Flynn and the Tigers are up 2-0.  The Twins get one back in the 2nd. Gaetti doubles and Gagne hits one to left that Simmons can't handle and is charged a 2BE and Gaetti scores to make it 2-1 Tigers.

The Tigers answer back in the 4th.  Grubb hits a solo bomb his 2nd of the season and Lemon would follow him with his 2nd homer of the year making it back to back homers and giving the Tigers a 4-1 lead.  The Tigers get 2 more in the 5th.  Flynn singles, Gibson singles, Parrish singles and Flynn comes around to score.  Simmons hits a hot shot to Gaetti and it hits of the heal of his glove for an erroe and Gibson scores to make 6-1 Tigers.

The Twins score 1 in the 6th.  Gagne doubles and Puckett hits a 2-out single scoring Gagne and the The Tigers lead it 6-2.  The Tigers get that 1 back on Garbey's 1st home run of the season and the Tigers lead ir 7-2.
