April 30, 1985 Game 243: Expos (8-11) at Phillies (8-10)

It is a chilly one at the Vet today and the struggling Jerry Koosman takes the mound and the Expos send Bill Gullickson who has had a great start of the season.

In the 3rd the Expos take a 2-0 lead on homers by Raines (2) and Dawson (6).  The Phillies come right back and put 1 on the board.  Foley singles, Stone singles, Hayes is safe at 1st due to an error on Wallach and that loads the bases.  Schmidt will draw a walk to make it 2-1.  The Phillies missed a golden oppurtunity to put this game away.

In the 5th Raines makes it to 3rd due to a 3BE on the usually sure handed Wilson.  Washington bounces into a 4-3 FC and Raines scores.  The Phillies get that one back when Stone rips a 2-out single, Hayes singles, Schmidt singles scoring Stone and it is now 3-2 Expos.

In the 9th Gullickson helps his own cause as he hits a 2 run homer to make it 5-2 Expos.  Along with his home run Gullickson would Strikeout 10 to get the complete game win and improve to 3-1.

The Final Score 5-2 Expos
