April 30, 1985 Game 247: Dodgers (10-10) at Cardinals (12-6)

Busch Stadium is alive on bursting with excitement  as the Cardinals will take on the Dodgers.  They will send Joaquin Andujar to face Jerry Ruess.

Landreaux leads off the game with his 3 homerun of the season.  Russell follows him with a single, Madlock is safe at 2nd on a 2BE on Coleman.  Guerrero bounces into a 4-3 FC scoring Russell.  Marshall lifts a SACFLY to left and Madlock scores and the Dodgers lead it 3-0.

In the 2nd the Cardinals answer back.  Pendelton doubles with 1-out and smith bloops a 2-out single that allows Pendleton to race home and make it a 3-1 game. In the 3rd the Dodgers get that run back.  Russell is safe at 1st due to an error on Clark.  Guerrero singles and Marshal doubles scoring Russell to make it 4-1 Dodgers.

The Cardinal make it 4-2 in the bottom of the 3rd.  Coleman singles, Van Slyke bounces into a 3-6 FC, Herr singles, McGee singles with 2-outs and Van Slyke scores.  The Cardinals make it a 1 run game. Herr singles, Clark singles, McGee singles and Herr score from 2nd to make it 4-3 Dodgers.

The Dodgers get an insurance run in the 8th on a Marshall's 4th homer of the season to make it 5-3 Dodgers.  The Cardinals try and mount a comeback in the 8th.  Jorgesen draws a pinch hit walk, Van Slyke walks,  Herr moves jorgensen to 3rd with a 3-6 FC.  Clark singles home Jorgensen to make it 5-4 and that is all the offense that they can muster and the Dodgers hold on to win.

The Final Score 5-4 Dodgers
