May 1, 1985 Game 253: Twins (9-11) at Tigers (10-8)

The Tigers have won 2 in a row and the Twins are starting to fall further and further behind the Angles.  The Tigers will send Frank Tanana to face Bert Blyleven and a dismal Twins offense.
 
The Twins get to Tanana right away in the 1st.  Puckett doubles, Hatcher doubles scoring Puckett and the Twins are up 1-0.  They would add to their lead in the 6th.  Puckett doubles again and Hatcher drives him home with a single, Brunansky then draws a 1-out walk and then Smalley doubles scoring Hatcher to make it 3-0 Twins.
 
The Tigers were being overpowered by Blyleven until they are able to scratch out a run in the 6th.  Gibson singles with 2-out.  Parrish singles and Evans walks to load the bases.  Lemon then singles scoring Gibson and it is now a 3-1 Twins lead.  In the 7th Garbey hits a solo shot off of Blyleven to make it 3-2.
 
In the 8th the Tigers finally figure out Blyleven and they go for the kill.  Evans walks, Lemon doubles, Grubb walks to load the bases.  Simmons walks scoring evans and it is 3-3.  That will force the Twins to make a pitching change and they bring in Ken Schrom to face Garbey and Garbey makes schrom pay by blasting a grand slam to give the Tigers a 7-3 lead.
 
The Twins get 1 in the 9th and send Tanana packing.  Salas get to 2snd after a single and an error on Simmons, Puckett then singles him home and Hernandez is brought in to finish this one.  The Tigers now have a 3 game winning streak
