May 1, 1985 Game 255: Indians (9-11) at Royals (7-12)

The Royals snapped their 8 game losing streak yesterday and are hoping to turn that win into a winning streak.  Led by George Brett the Royals look to be ready to turn that bad April into a great May.  Today they send Danny Jackson to the hill to face a tough Indians lineup.  The Indians would send Vern Ruhle out to counter him and he wouldn't disappoint.

The Indians get to Jackson in the 2nd when Butler hits a 2 run homer his 3rd and the Indians are up 2-0.  In the 3rd the Royals get 1 back when White his a Ruhle slider for a solo homer his 1st of the season and the Indians lead is cut in half 2-1.

In the 7th the Indians make it 3-1 in the 7th.  Jacoby walks and Bernazard triples to score him.  The Royals tie it in the 8th.  Wilson is at 2nd due to a throwing error by Bernazard.  Brett doubles with 1-out scoring Wilson, Balboni singles scoring Brett.

The Indians make it 4-3 in the 12th when Carter and Thornton single and Carter is at 3rd.  Vuckovich hits a deep fly to center and Carter scores.  But the Royals were not to be denied.  Waddell come in to close it out but Brett makes him pay for the fastball that he left up in the zone and he hits a 3 run blast to right his 1st and the Royals win 6-4.

The Final Score 6-4 Royals
