May 1, 1985 Game 257: Brewers (11-8) at A's (10-11)

There was a pitchers duel at the Coliseum today.  The two locked in this battle were Moose Haas and Chris Codiroli.  There would also be a lack of hits up until the 7th inning when the Brewers finally break the scoreless game.

It would happen in the 7th when Yount hits a 1-out 3 run bomb to give the Brewers a 3-0 lead.  The A's would mount a rally in the 9th but would come up short.  Davis singles, Murphy gets on due to an error on Gantner and the fleet footed Dave Kingman puts one just inside the bag at 1st and he makes to 3rd for a triple scoring both runners and makes it a 3-2 ballgame.

The stars of this game:
Yount  2-4 with a HR and 3 RBI
Kingman 1-4 with a 3B and 2 RBI
Haas 9 IP, 2 R and 6 K's

The Final Score 3-2 Brewers
