May 1, 1985 Game 260: Dodgers (11-10) at Cardinals (12-7)

There was a great game at Busch Stadium today between the Dodgers and the Cardinals.  Bob Welch who has been on fire this season and John Tudor who has been a little inconsistent were fighting it out.  The only run scored was on a solo shot in the fifth.

Landrum would provide the only scoring in this game, as he hit a Welch fastball for a Home run in the 5th and giving the Cardinals a 1-0 lead. Landrum replaced the Injured Van Slyke, who left the game in the 3rd with an undisclosed injury and looks like he will miss 3 weeks.

Both managers were able to rest the bullpens as both starters went the distance in a show of pitching brilliance.

The stars of the game:
Landrum 2-2 with the game winning HR
Tudor 9 IP, 5 H's. 0 R's and 5 K's CG SHO
Welch 8 IP, 6 H's, 1 R and 5 K's CG

The Final Score 1-0 Cardinals
