May 2, 1985 Game 263: Brewers (12-8) at A's (10-12)

The Brewers have won 3 in a row and want to make it 4.  They take on the A's today and will send Ray Burris to the hill.  Jackie Moore will send Don Sutton to hill and Sutton has been awful this season and Moore really needs him if the A's want to have a winning season.

But the Brewers were able to get to Sutton early and in the 1st. After a Molitor single and a Manning double, Cooper will hit a SACFLY to right and Molitor tags up and scores to make it a 1-0 game.  Sutton would ten retire 12 in a row before giving up a walk in the 5th.  That walk would come back to haunt him as Gantner would take a 2-2 fastball a deposit it in the left field seats for a 2 run homer giving the Brewers a 3-0 lead.  The Brewers were done though and after that 2 run shot Riles advances to 2nd on his single but then Hill tries to pick him off 1st on the throw back into the infield and it goes over Kingman's head.  Manning then singles and Riles scores easily to make it 4-0.

The A's will get one of those runs back in the 6th when Griffin singles and advances to second on Molitor's error.  Collins then singles for the 3rd time and Griffin races home to make it 4-1.  That is were the score would remain and the Brewers pick up their 4th straight win.  Dave Collins was thrown out twice trying to steal 2nd and Fingers picks up his 6th save.

The Final Score 4-1 Brewers
