May 3, 1985 Game 267: Rangers (7-13) at Indians (9-12)

The Indians showed today why most of the league feels that they played above their talent level in the first month of the season.  The team would commit 4 errors and Pat Corrales was clearly upset at the level of play.   He already doesn't have the best rotation and really needs his defense to play well in order to keep his team in games.  Meanwhile on the Rangers side Mike Mason would give Doug Rader a great start and maybe Mason has found his form.

In the 3rd McDowell gives the Rangers a 3 run lead when he his a Wardle fastball over the rightfield wall for his 3rd homerun of the season.  In the 3rd the Rangers add 2 more.  With runners on 2nd and 3rd.  O'Brien hits a single and advances to 3rd on Vukovich's throwing error and the score is now 5-0 Rangers.

In the 4th the Indians get their first run.  Tabler and Thornton single, Carter bounces into a 6-4 FC and Tabler move s over to 3rd.  Jacoby singles scoring Tabler and it is now 5-1.  In the 9th Jacoby hits his 4th homerun of the year to make it 5-2.  The Rangers are forced to bring in Harris and he gets the final two outs to secure the win.

The Final Score 5-2 Rangers
