May 3, 1985 Game 271: Orioles (6-14) at Twins )9-12)

The Twins take on the Orioles at the Metrodome today and both teams are desperate for a win.  The Twins send Frank Viola to face Denny Martinez. The Orioles would enjoy a hit parade off of the Twins ace.

The Orioles get it started in the 2nd, with sheets on 2nd Young would single him home.  Dempsey is safe at 2nd on a 2BE on Washington to score Young and it is a 2-0 Orioles lead.  The Twins get those runs back in the bottom of the 2nd.  With Brunansky on 2nd, Smalley walks,  Bush Bounches into a 5-3 FC and both runners advance.  Washington follows with a single and both runners score and the game is tied at 2.

In the 6th the Orioles regain the lead. Wiggins rips a bases loaded double scoring 2 and the Orioles lead it 4-2.  The Orioles break it open in the 8th.  Sheets and Young hit back to back homers, Wiggins draws a walk, Dempsey bounces into a 5-4 FC, Lacy and Rayford single and Dempsey scores.  Ripken bpunces into a 5-4 FC scoring Lacy.  Murray then hits a 2 run homer to make it 10-2 Orioles.  In the 9th the Twins squek out a run.  Smalley doubles and Gaetti doubles scoring Smalley and it is now 10-3
