May 3, 1985 Game 275: Red Sox (13-9) at A's (10-13)

The Red Sox are on a roll and the A's are slowly falling towards the bottom of the division. They would play a wild one at the Coliseum and Jim Rice would continue his tear through the American League.

In the 1st the Red sox smack Jose Rijo all over the ballpark.  Boggs walks, Evans singles  Armas singles and Boggs scores.  Easler doubles scoring Evans.  Gedman then hits a 3 run homer and the Red Sox are up 5-0.  In the 2nd the Red Sox make it 7-0 on Rice's 2 run homer.  The A's get 1 on Kingman's homerun and the Red Sox lead it 7-1.

In the 5th The A's make it 7-2 when Canseco singles and would score on a 2BE that is charged to Gedman.  In the 6th Rice hits his 2nd homer of the game to make it 8-2.  The A's would make their comeback in the 6th .  Bochte singles, Kingman walks, Murhy singles and the bases are loaded.  Heath walks and that scores Bochte, Hill doubles, Kingman and Murphy score. Griffin triples and that scores Heath and Hill.  Davis grounds out to short and Griffin scores and its tied at 8. In the 7th Guiterrez hits a 3 run homer off of John to give the A's a 11-8 lead.
