May 4, 1985 Game 281: Padres (12-9) at Cubs (11-9)

The crowd was electric at Wrigley Field today as the Cubs take on the Padres.  Ray Fontenot would face Dave Dravecky in a classic game of cat and mouse.  The win would come of course to an error in the 8th.

In the 2nd with Nettles on 2nd Martinez would double off of Fontenot to score him and the give the Padres a 1-0 lead.  The Cubs tie it up in the 7th When Dunston would score on Derniers double and its 1-1.  But in the 8th Flannery singles and Gwynn follows with a single. On the throw back into the infield Flannery is trying for 3rd and Dunston throws it over Cey's head and Flannery scores and Gwynn ends up on 3rd.  The Padres lead it 2-1
