May 5, 1985 Game 293: Rangers (8-14) Indians (10-13)

The Indians have been one of the more exciting teams this year.  They always seem to surprise you with their play.  Today would be no different.  Don Schulze gets the start and Charlie Hough starts for the Rangers.

The Rangers take the lead in the 3rd when Wilkerson doubles home Slaught and the Rangers are up 1-0.  The Indians tie it up in the 4th after Carter and Tabler walk, Nixon singles and Carter comes in to score and it is now 1-1.

The Indians take the lead in the 5th on Butler's 1st homerun of the season and that gives the Indians a 2-1 lead.  The score would remain 2-1 until the 9th when the Rangers tie it up.  Jones leads off with a triple and would score on Wilkerson's single and this is heading to extra innings.

The Rangers take the lead in the 12th.  With runners on 2nd and 3rd, O'Brien hits a SACFLY to right scoring Ward and the Rangers lead it 3-2.  But the Indians coxme right back. Williard is on 2nd and Ward commits a 2BE on Carters flyball, Williard score to make it 3-3.  In the 13th Franco draws a bases loaded walk, forcing home Jacoby and the Indians win 4-3.
