May 5, 1985 Game 301: Red Sox (15-9) at A's (10-15)

Roger Clemens was at again as he carried a 3 shutout into the 9th.  He couldn't close out the game and was visible tired.  Chris Codiroli couldn't escape the long ball as a couple of homeruns would be his undoing.

In the 4th Evans gives the Red Sox the lead with a 2 run homer off of Codiroli and it is a 2-0 Red Sox lead.  In the 5th Gutierrez takes Codiroli deep for a 2 run homer making it 4-0 Red Sox.  The Red Sox add 2 more in the 7th.  Gedman is walked and advances to 2nd on a wild pitch by Codiroli.  Barrett singles scoring Gedman.  Evans delivers a 2-out double and Barrett scores to make it 6-0.

Clemens is breezing through the game and he is unable to get the final out.  Bochte singles with the bases loaded scoring Kingman.  Collins also singles with the bases loaded scoring Baker and it is 6-2 Red Sox.
