May 7, 1985 Game 308: Dodgers (14-12) at Cubs (13-10)

Both teams are right on the heals of the 1st place team in their respective divisions.  The winds were blowing out today at The Friendly Confines as the Cubs send Scoot Sanderson out on this windy May day and the Dodgers counter with Bob Welch.

In the 4th Mrshall hits his 5th homer of the season and this one was a 1-out 2 run shot and the Dodgers are up 2-0.  In the 5th the Dodgers add to their lead.  Duncan triples scoring Sax and it is now a 3-0 Dodger lead. The Cubs make it  3-1 game in the 7th on Dunston's 2nd homerun of the season.

In the 8th Guerrero hits his 9th homerun of the year and the dodgers are up 4-1 Guerrero would add a 2 run homerun in the 9th his 10th and this one was a 2 run shot off of Dick Ruthven and the Dodgers lead 6-1.  Ken Howell puts the Cubs down in order in the 9th for his 1st save.
