May 7, 1985 Game 309: White Sox (10-11) at Indians (11-13)

I thought this game was going to be worse than it was, both pitchers were the victim of the long ball.  Vern Ruhle gets the start for the hometown team and Gene Nelson goes for Tony LaRussa.  Tim Hulett was the big story as he lit a charge in the White Sox offense.  He would go 5-5 with 2 HR's.

In the 1st Hulett hits his 2nd homerun of the season and the White Sox are up 1-0. In the 3rd the White Sox widen their lead.  Salazar hits his 3rd homerun and Fisk launches a 3 run bomb his 6th and the White Sox are up 5-0.

In the 6th Thornton hits his 1st homerun of the season and it was a 2 run shot to make this a 5-2 game.  Hulett hits his 2nd of the game in the 7th and gives the White Sox a 6-2 lead.  Butler get that run back for the Indians in the 8th with a solo homer to make it 6-3.

The Final Score 6-3 Indians
