May 7, 1985 Game 317: Tigers (13-9) at Rangers (8-15)

The Rangers needed a strong start out of Mike Mason today and boy would they get it.  Walt Terrell gets the nod for the Tigers.  This game was a real pitchers dual and Mason who has struggled so far this season had all his pitches working as the Tigers could sustain any momentum.

In the 1st the Rangers get a couple runs off of Terrell.  Tolleson hits a 1 out triple and would score Ward and then Buechele's SACFLY to right gave the Rangers a 2-0 lead.  That would be all the Rangers would need to seal this game.  The Tigers do get a lone run in the 6th when Trammell singles and advances to 2nd on Mason's error.  Parrish would then be safe at 1st on Ward's error and Trammell comes around to score to make it a 2-1 game.

Mason would get the CG and hopefully get into a groove a help this struggling Ranger club.

The Final Score 2-1 Rangers
