May 8, 1985 Game 322: White Sox (11-11) at Indians (11-14)

The Indians take on the White Sox today and Municipal Stadium and the White Sox are looking to get above .500 again and the Indians are trying to get to .500.  The Indians give Curt Wardle the ball today and he has been less than stellar and the White Sox hand the ball to their ace Tom Seaver.

In the 2nd the Indians take a 3-0 lead when Roenicke spanks a Seaver slider over the center field wall for a 3 run homer that is his 5th of the year.  In the 4th the White Sox cut into the Indians lead.  Kittle singles with runners on 1st and 2nd and that would score Fletcher.  Walker follows with a double that scores Baines and the score is now 3-2.

In the 6th with bases loaded Guillen bounces into a 4-6-3 doubleplay and The Indians concede the run and Walker scores to tie it at 3.  The Indians would break the tie in the bottom half of the inning.  Thornton is safe at 3rd on Salzar's 3BE and that would score Franco.  Tabler then hits a grounder deep in the hole at second and is out at 1st but Thornton scores to give the Indians a 5-3 lead.

The White Sox bust lose on Wardle in the 7th.  Baines hits a solo homer his 6th and three batters later Fisk crushes a 3 run homer his 7th to give the White Sox a 7-5 lead.  Kittle makes it 8-5 with his 3rd homer of the season in the 9th.  The Indians add a run in the bottom of the 9th when Tabler scores due to a passed ball on Fisk.

The Final Score 8-6 White Sox
