May 8, 1985 Game 332: Athletics (11-16) at Blue Jays (18-8)

The 1st place Blue Jays take on the inconsistent A's.  The Blue Jays send the left hander Jimmy Key to the and he he go up against Jose Rijo.  Both pitchers were solid but a lapse in defense would cost one of them the win.

In the 1st Collins leads off the game with a shot to right that would deflect off of Barfield'
s glove and Collins uses his speed to make it into 3rd standing up.  Lansford would follow with a single scoring Collins and it is a 1-0 A's lead.

In the 8th Iorg bobbles a Griffin grounder and then throws it low and it skips past Upshaw and Griffin advances to 2nd.  Lansford then hits a routine grounder to Garcia and it scoots under his glove for an error and Griffin scores to give the A's a 2-0 lead.    The Blue Jays mount their comeback in the 9th,  with a runner on 3rd Barfield hits a 2-out single scoring Bell and that would end Rijo's day.  Jackie Moore brings in Jay Howell and he strikes out Fernandez to pick up the save.

The Final Score 2-1 Athletics
