The Cubs get the scoring started in the 4th. Sandberg singles and advances to 2nd on a wild pitch. Durham hits a 2BE charged to Nettles and Sandberg scores easily. Hatcher doubles scoring Durham. Cey then launches a 2-run homer to make it 4-0. The Padres get a couple of those runs back, with runners on 1st and 3rd Garvey singles scoring Flannery. Nettles then hits a SACFLY to center and Gwynn scores to make it 4-2. THe Cubs add an insurance run in the 9th. They have runners on 1st and 2nd and Bosley doubles scoring Cey and the score is 5-2.
