May 11, 1985 Game 355: Yankees (15-10) at Royals (12-14)

The Royals are trying to catch the Angels and they have been playing great ball since Brett's return from the disabled list.  Today Charlie Leibrandt will toe the rubber and he will square off against Phil Niekro at Royals Stadium.

THe Royals get 1 in the 1st.  Brett smacks a 2-out double and would score on Orta's single to make it 1-0 Royals.  The Yankees get 1 in the 3rd on Randolph's solo homer to tie it at 1.

The Royals take the lead in the 3rd.  Wilson is on 2nd and Brett singles scoring him and it is a 2-1 Royals lead.  They would add a couple of runs in the 8th.  Wilson and Smith single, Brett also singles and that one will score Wilson and Smith heads to 3rd.  Orta bounces into a 3-6-3 double play and that score Smith to make it 4-1. Quisenberry pitches the 9th without incident for his 5th save.
