May 12, 1985 Game 373: Cardinals (18-11) at Giants (12-17)

The offensively inept Giants take on the speedy Cardinals.  The Cardinals have struggled the last few games and have fallen out of 1st Place.  They look to John Tudor to put them back on top.  The Giants send Dave LaPoint to the hill and he needs to keep this one a low scoring affair.

The Cardinals get on the board in the 2nd.  Pendleton hits a 1-out double and would score on Nieto's single and the Cardinals have a 1-0 lead.  But the Giants answer back in the bottom of the inning.  They have 2-on and 2-out when Uribe smacks a single to score Davis and the game is tied at 1.

In the 3rd the Cardinals take the lead back.  Coleman leads off and steals 2nd.  DeJesus singles scoring Coleman.  McGee singles and steals 2nd.  Cedeno singles scoring DeJesus and McGee.  Smith rips a 2-out single scoring Cedeno and the Cardinals have a 5-1 lead.  Tudor would not allow another run and finishes the game for his 4th Complete Game and his 5th Win.

The Final Score 5-1 Cardinals
