May 12, 1985 Game 374: Mariners (12-18) vs Blue Jays (18-11)

The Blue Jays have lost 5 in a row and they look to Doyle Alexander to stop the slide.  Alexander is looking for his 7th win of the season.  The Mariners look to Matt Young to keep the Jays on the slide.

In the 2nd Cowens gives the Mariners a 1-0 lead with a 2-out solo homer.  The Blue Jays get that run back on Garcia's bases loaded SACFLY to center and it is now a 1-1 game.

The Mariners make it 4-1 on Davis's 2 out 3 run homer.  The Blue Jays aren't going away just yet and they answer back with a run of their own.  They have runners on 1st and 2nd when Barfield pokes a double scoring Johnson and it is now a 4-2 Mariners lead.

The Mariners tack on 2 more in the 4th.  With runners on 1st and 3rd.  Perconte singles and that scores Presley.  Then a wild pitch by Alexander allows Kearney to score and it is now a 6-2 Mariners lead.

The Blue Jays are resilient and they start to break out the bats in the 6th.  Upshaw singles with the bases loaded and Perconte on the cutoff throws the ball over Presley's head and that clears the bases and Upshaw is safe at 3rd.  Bell singles scoring Upshaw and then Johnson hits a 2-run homer and the Blue Jays have a 8-6 lead.

The Mariners get a run in the 7th, with runners on the corners Henderson hits a grounder to Upshaw who tags 1st and that lets Davis score to make it 8-7.  In the 8th the Mariners tie it up, when with the bases loaded and nobody out Bradley bounces into a 6-4-3 doubleplay and Kearney scores and it is now tied at 8.  Then in the 9th the Blue Jays get a run to end the game and end their losing streak.  Fernandez walks and Garcia singles, Lee then singles to score Fernandez and it is a 9-8 win.
