It is a game of 1st place teams and the Blue Jays are in a 3 way tie with the Red Sox and Tigers.  The Angles have the Royals breathing down their necks so both teams need a win today.

The Blue Jays get a run in the 3rd.  Bell singles with Mulliniks on 2nd and he comes around to score and the Blue Jays have a 1-0 lead.  The Blue Jays add another in the 4th.  Runners are on 1st and 3rd.  Fernandez bounces into a 5-4-3 double play and Whitt score to make it 2-0.

Key would take a shutout into the 9th and then he would run into some trouble.  Jackson doubles and Grich singles, Jackson holds at 3rd.  DeCinces hits a SACFLY to left and Jackson score to make it 2-1.  Key would get the next 2 batters and the Blue Jays hang on to win.
