May 15, 1985 Game 396: Phillies (14-16) at Braves (11-19)

The Braves take on the Phillies who are playing well the last few games. Rick Mahler get the start for the Braves and Charles Hudson for the Phillies.  Mahler would leave after the 3 with a blister and Len Barker took over and he would also leave due to an injury.  It looked like he landed on his front foot wrong and tweaked his knee.  He will not make his next start.

This game was all pitching and runs were hard to come by.  The Phillies would get 1 in the 1st.  Samuel doubles and would score on Schmidt's single and the Phillies are up 1-0.

That is where the game would stay as Hudson is tossing a gem.  He has a no-hitter going into the 6th.  A couple of errors are his undoing. Oberkfell is safe at 3rd due to an error by Wilson.  Murphy then hits a slow roller to Foley and he throw it away scoring Oberkfell and Murhy is at 2nd.  Cerone then rips the 1st hit of night a double into the leftfield corner and Murphy to make 2-1 Braves.

The Braves bullpen is able to shut down the Phillies and they pick up the win.

The Final Score 2-1 Braves
