May 15, 1985 Game 397 Orioles (10-20) at White Sox (14-14)

It was a great day for baseball at Comisky Park today as the White Sox take on the Orioles.  Floyd Bannister gets the start for the White Sox and he has been struggling so far this season.  THe Orioles hand the ball to Denny Martinez and he has struggled a bit as well.

The Orioles get a big blast from Shelby in the 2nd as he would take a Bannister fastball and but in the rightfield seats for a 3 run homer and gives the Orioles a 3-0 lead.  THe White Sox get 1 of those runs back in the bottom of the inning.  Kittle singles and advances to 3rd on Shelby's throwing error.  Boston then pokes a 1-out single to score kittle and it is now a 3-1 game.

In the 3rd the Orioles scratch a run across, with runners at 1st and 3rd Sakata bounces into a 5-4-3 doubleplay  and Muraay scores to make it 4-1.  The Score would stay that way until the 8th and the White Sox start a rally.  The have runners on 1st and 2nd when Boston singles scoring Walker.  Guillen also singles scoring Kittle and the rally falls short.  Sammy Stewart works the 9th to earn his 1st save.  This one could have been a lot worse for the White Sox but the defense was able to turn 4 doubleplays

The Final Score 4-3 Orioles
