May 16, 1985 Game 408: Orioles (11-20) at White Sox (14-15)

Both Managers were able to rest their bullpens today as both starters would go the distance.  Storm Davis (4-2) was brilliant today and would only give up 5 hits and 2 walks.  He would not surrender a run and struck out 6.  He ERA dropped to 4.45.  Gene Nelson (2-4) was tagged with loss he was also very good today.  He gave u;p 2 runs on 6 hits and 2 walks, dropping his ERA to 6.34.

The offense was led by Fred Lynn as he went 2-4 with an RBI.  Ozzie Guillen had 2 of the White Sox 5 hits and he finished the day going 2-3.  After the game Joe Altobelli was very candid about his pitcher.  "It was nice to see him throwing strikes and we haven't seen that lately.  I just hope he has turned the corner.  We need more than McGregor to keep our season alive."
