May 16, 1985 Game 409: Phillies (14-17) at Braves (12-19)

Steve Carlton looked like the Steve Carlton of old.  While he didn't overpower batters with his fastball, but he was able to keep them off balance with a mixture of pitches and pinpoint control.  He would go the distance and pick up the win improving to (3-1) on the season.  He only allowed 3 hits and 4 walks while striking out 2.

Von Hayes hit a 2 run homer (4) in the 3rd and that would be all the Phillies needed and Hayes would finish the day 1-3.  Steve  Bedrosian was pushed up a day due to the injury to len Barker and he looked a liitle fatigued early.  He was the loser today and he falls to (1-6).

The Final Score 3-0 Phillies
